Last Thursday I demoed StopForwarding.Us at OpenBeta, a technology “un-conference” held in Oklahoma City. The event drew a crowd of 120 designers, developers and entrepreneurs from the state of Oklahoma into one venue where they could share ideas, demo their projects and discuss future collaboration not to mention mingle.
My demo drew many visitors with a ton of tallents. I hope to get to know them better and possibly draw on them for the future development of StopForwarding.Us and other projects. My biggest surprise of the evening and one that I am proud of is that StopForwarding.Us received the award for “Most Enterprise Potential.” I’m glad that there are others out there who see potential in the service the site provides and am flattered that I was chosen for the award. Part of the prize is that I get to take StopForwarding.Us to the Innotech show floor next week! If you are in town and you’re a fan of the site or you’ve been sending me hate mail and would like to put a knife in my ribs, please stop by!
My thanks to all who stopped by and said hi, the pannel who awarded me and Derrick Parkhurst for putting the event together!
Crazy traffic has been happening this morning thanks to Komando.com! I have to admit I have never heard of this site, but obiously a lot of people have. Thanks for the nod and welcome visitors!

I’ve decided that from now on, when I receive hate mail related to StopForwarding.Us that I will ignore the email and post it to the StopForwarding.Us Facebook page.
UPDATE: It turns out that that gets into some murky copyright waters that I don’t have the patience to wade into. So I won’t be posting hate mail. Sorry folks.
Aaron at stopthefwds.com has built a clever site that may help your forwarding friends clense themselves of their stained, emailing histories. Point your friends to his website and they’ll be able to send all those rediculous emails that they are itching to send to him instead. He’ll post the best (worst) ones on the blog.
Thanks to those of you who have pointed out the typos on StopForwarding.Us. I think I’ve got them taken care of now.
Also, thanks to those who have taken the time to drop me an email with kind words and suggestions. I appreciate the occasional positive email a lot more than the occasional negative email I receive from those who get one of the StopForwarding.Us emails. The next version of the site will most definately have a Spanish language option and hopefully more.
Wow. After a couple of months of letting StopForwarding.Us sit on cruise control, this little site has gotten a ton of traffic thanks to downloadsquad.com and lifehacker.com.
I’ve been contemplating a redesign of the site but have not been able to take the time for personal projects. And to think I was going to add a tipping system for my tattoo fund. Too little too late, I suppose.
I hope you enjoy the site. If you like it, please consider becoming a fan at Facebook.
